Strongly recommend doing this loop in the clockwise direction, as the left hand side is too steep to descend safely.

This side trail takes you to the summer trailhead for Donut Falls. You can start your run there during the summer but if you're making this run in the off season, that trailhead will be closed. You can still run in from other nearby trails, including the Mill D Trailhead.

At 10,726 feet (3,269 m), Clayton Peak is a fine destination in and of itself — or the sole "out and back" destination in the challenging, all-day Brighton Ridge Run.

Although it's a pretty destination at any time of year, Willow Lake is at its best in the fall, when temperatures crisp up a bit and the leaves of the nearby aspen trees blaze a bright yellow.
