There is also a road loop you can do around the top of Mount Parnitha as well as a refuge which on the way to the radio towers which is a great place to stop and refuel. Malakasa Climb to Tatoi Forest Entrance

Highlight (Segment) • Climb

Absolutely stunning, quiet cat 2 climb, rising through thick forest on a smooth road with plenty of switchbacks. Relatively steady but with some steeper sections, absolutely beautiful views as you go up! Just be careful - there's often a group of feral dogs lower down. I rode right past without any problems but some people get chased occasionally!

Reaching the iconic Bafi Refuge on Mount Parnitha in the pouring rain! We missed the snow by just a matter of hours—only for the entire mountain to get perfectly blanketed the very next day. A cozy but slightly heartbreaking milestone, but still the best place to shelter from the elements.

The ascent to the top of Mount Parnitha is a special experience for anyone who enjoys travelling on two wheels. The road winds its way up the mountain with a gentle, steady incline - not too steep, but challenging enough to keep your muscles moving. The asphalt is in good condition, which makes the ride pleasant as the landscape opens up around you. On your way up, you will be accompanied by the rough beauty of the rocks and the sparse vegetation. The isolated, wind-shaped trees that decorate the mountainside are particularly striking - they tell of the harsh climate up here. The curves keep offering new perspectives on the surrounding landscape and invite you to stop for a short while to enjoy the view. Once you reach the summit, not only a magnificent view awaits you, but also the old, abandoned sanatorium, which exudes a mysterious atmosphere. It is worth stopping for a moment and taking in the peace and quiet before you start the descent. This section is located in the protected natural park Δρυμός Πάρνηθας – so please pay attention to the applicable regulations and respect nature.
