A wide gravel fire road leading along the spine of the ridge that runs parallel to the coast for the length of Andrew Molera State Park. Panoramic views the whole time. There are some steep sections, and the entire length is sun exposed, so it can get quite hot. Carry plenty of water.

This summit boasts expansive views of Pico Blanco, Big Sur Valley and Point Sur. The vast Big Sur Coast stretches with views of the high cone rising from the ocean. To the northeast is the Ventana Double Cone, the tallest peak in the heart of the Ventana Wilderness. This spot is a great place to relax on the rocks and enjoy the 360° view.

This unmarked trailhead for East Molera Trail is right off Highway 1. There is ample parking (for a fee) in the Andrew Molera State Park parking area 1/4 mile ahead. From there, head south, where you will see a white barn that marks a path leading to an underpass for safe access to the trailhead. There is no water access on the East Molera Trail, so bring more than you think you will need, as most of the trail is very exposed. Additionally, there are lots of ticks, so plan accordingly. Trekking poles are ideal, as portions of the route are steep with very loose gravel.

This fantastic viewpoint is one of several in the Park. On a clear day, you can see miles and miles of the open Pacific Ocean. It is a great spot to take a few photos before continuing on the path.

This quiet, long stretch of beach is a great place to stop and take a nice break. There are several logs to step over to get to the sand from the small Spring Trail offshoot. The small bench here is a nice feature, which is an ideal place to enjoy a picnic.

Andrew Molera Beach is located in the homonym park, desired by the previous owner Frances Molera to preserve this area. It's the perfect spot to take a break at the end of a running workout.
