Pentwyn Reservoir is the smaller sister to Pontsticill Reservoir, both being separated by a causeway going towards the old Dolygaer outdoor centre. It is a very popular spot with fishermen and outdoor enthusiasts alike. The reservoir is used daily for a mix of watersports such as paddle boarding, kayaking, canoeing and raft building. It is in a beautiful setting, and you have great views north towards Pen y Fan and nice walks nearby.

Great section of trail, bridge over a river worn valley. It's worth taking this trail a hit of extra climbing up from Pontsticill, the trail is fantastic and gives plenty of elevated views.

A very pretty and accessible dam, the spillover makes it a lovely scenic addition to your loop of the reservoir or the nearby forest. There are lovely picnic areas on the way around the dam, some eating spots by way of a roadside 'scoff' van in a nearby lay-by on the eastern shore, and the cafe at Garwnant Visitor Centre on the north side of the reservoir.

Great views and riding I've only done it on gravel bikes ascending from the south. It's doable fully loaded too. The Brecon descent is proper big gravel and under biking fun. Or do it flat out on an MTB too.
