Sarn Helen Roman Road

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

The name sounds pretty ominous, doesn't it?

Crossing over Nedd Fechan, and passing a series of caves nearby the water and the Maen Madog stone, this is a scenic and pretty remote dirt road across the Brecon Beacons.

It makes up part of the ancient Roman road named Sarn Helen, which runs from end to end of Wales linking Swansea and Conwy. Although much of its route is disputed, this is one of the parts that is better known.

Sarn Helen Roman Road

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

While views are great, the route is not suitable for gravel bikes as there’s a mix of medium and large rocks, had to spend too much time walking this section
