Aras de los Olmos is a mountain village surrounded by mountains and ravines, perfect for those seeking hiking and biking trails surrounded by nature. It is known for its clear skies, recognized with the Starlight Destination certification, making it one of the best places in Europe for astronomical observation. Its heritage includes the parish church, hermitages, a Muslim tower, and a medieval oven that can be visited, as well as paleontological finds such as the Losillasaurus dinosaur. The local cuisine, with dishes such as gachas (porridge), ajoarriero (a garlic stew), and artisanal honey, completes the visit.

Arcos de las Salinas is a small village in the Javalambre Mountains, ideal for hiking and nature lovers. Surrounded by mountains and crossed by the Arcos and Torrijano rivers, it is part of a protected area designated as a Site of Community Interest. Its scattered villages and farmhouses give it a very authentic rural feel, perfect for unwinding. Thanks to its altitude, the climate is cool, and snow is not uncommon in winter, making it a good starting point for excursions at any time of year.

The trail through the ancient juniper forest is one of the most unique spots in the Serranía del Turia. It's part of the Ruta de la Travinas (PR CV 331) and the GR 37, and allows you to walk among juniper trees (Juniperus thurifera), some of which are large and old. The terrain is gentle, making for a peaceful walk surrounded by nature. Comfortable shoes and water are recommended, as the sun can be intense in summer.

Impressive old entrance to the town. In addition to the walled entrance, I recommend strolling through the old town, within the walls. In summer, the park in front of the wall invites you to rest in the shade of its enormous trees or lie on the grass. There are multiple mountain bike routes starting from Manzanera.

The summit is 2019 meters high. The path is demanding, but it is worth the effort. The panoramic views of the surrounding mountains are like something out of a movie.

We are at Pico Javalambre at an altitude of 2,019 meters, considered a sacred mountain by many nature lovers and/or Turolenses. It is the highest peak of the mountain range that bears his name, it is considered by the majority of Teruel residents to be the roof of their province, although the true roof of Teruel is the top of Peñarroya. If we have the opportunity to climb here when there is no snow, we will be able to appreciate the so-called "leopard skin" caused by the vegetation on the entire surface of the massif, a work of art of nature!
