Long Bridge

The Long Bridge was the first bridge in Szczecin. In place of the previous ferry crossing, a wooden bridge with passage for ships was built in 1283
In 1900, the bridge was dismantled and a bridge called Hansebrücke, which was a drawbridge, was opened on May 8, 1903. The Hanseatic Bridge was blown up on April 20, 1945 by the retreating Wehrmacht troops.
In August 1947, a wooden walkway was built on the pillars of the destroyed bridge.

The new headquarters of the Philharmonic in Szczecin is one of the most modern buildings in Poland, which has already become a contemporary icon of architecture. It is distinguished by its extremely original, soaring shape, designed by Spanish architects from the Barozzi Veiga studio from Barcelona.
The building, which was erected on the site of the pre-war Concert House - Konzerthaus, combines history and modernity, inspired by the former location and historical buildings. The Philharmonic draws on the European tradition of concert halls and houses.
The building is distinguished by its boldness and lightness, but at the same time it creates a coherent line with the neo-Gothic buildings of the surroundings. The building's innovation is not limited only to the visual aspect - the Philharmonic is also an interdisciplinary art center and a multifunctional cultural institution.
The interior of the philharmonic hall covers over 12,000 square meters of space, spread over four floors, and includes, among others: a symphony hall, a chamber hall, rehearsal rooms, a music shop, a café and a spacious foyer.
The Symphony Hall, also called the Solar Hall, can accommodate an audience of 953 people. The excellent acoustics of the Solar Room come from the special geometry of the walls and ceilings. All parameters of the symphony hall (power, sound uniformity, delay time and side reflection coefficient) produce an effect comparable to a model of this type of implementation - the Musikverein concert hall in Vienna.
In the chamber hall - designed for 192 people - the reverberation time is as designed to one hundredth of a second. That is why this hall has been called an "acoustic gem".

Emil Stoewer Tenement

From 1907 to 1917, Emil Stoewer, a pioneer of the automotive industry, lived on the ground floor. He and his brother ran the Stoewer-Werke AG factory. In 1897, they constructed their first vehicle – a three-wheeled bicycle powered by an internal combustion engine. The factory produced passenger cars (including convertibles, limousines, and sports cars), delivery vans, trucks, and buses, including double-decker omnibuses for London public transport. Most were destined for export.

In 1930, Stoewer developed the V5 model, considered the first mass-produced German front-wheel drive car. The company had interesting marketing ideas: a rally to Paris in a car of its own design, exhibition activities, and test drives. Szczecin was nicknamed "Stöwerstadt." Emil Stoewer left the company in 1932. Three years later, the factory was involved in centrally controlled armaments production.
