In 1900, the bridge was dismantled and a bridge called Hansebrücke, which was a drawbridge, was opened on May 8, 1903. The Hanseatic Bridge was blown up on April 20, 1945 by the retreating Wehrmacht troops.
In August 1947, a wooden walkway was built on the pillars of the destroyed bridge.
In 1959 the bridge was rebuilt and the drawbridge was extended until 2000
