Victoria view

Highlight • Viewpoint

Well known and advertised vantage point that is easily accessible. There is only room for one or two people on the small platform, so allow for some waiting time. If you want to see the chalk cliffs in all their splendor and fascination, you should also continue to the other vantage points.

From this point on the high bank path in the Jasmund National Park you have a spectacular view of the Wissower Ufer. The view is particularly good in winter, when the trees no longer have any leaves! Just before (or behind - depending on which direction you come from) you can descend to the beach along the Kieler Bach.
Unfortunately, the path to this viewpoint has been closed since spring 2024 because there were too many collapses last autumn and winter...

A miracle of nature - and that on Germany's coast! Incredible colors and shapes enchant every nature lover and make them repeat offenders - so beware: addictive!

View of Wissower Ufer

Highlight • Viewpoint

From this vantage point, you have a magnificent view of the Wissower Ufer. The lookout point is located just beyond the Piratenschlucht (Pirate Gorge) and is easily accessible. There's also a bench to rest on. Highly recommended, especially at sunrise: a special atmosphere and mood.

Beautiful nature guaranteed. The forest is not managed, but left to nature. Please stay on the paths so as not to disturb nature and animals.

Ernst-Moritz-Arndt Viewpoint

Highlight • Viewpoint

The Ernst Moritz Arndt Viewpoint is an impressive vantage point in Jasmund National Park on Rügen. From here, you can enjoy breathtaking views of the striking chalk cliffs and the Baltic Sea. The vantage point was named after the Rügen-born historian and writer Ernst Moritz Arndt.

You can enjoy great views on the Hochuferweg. In the beech forest of the Jasmund National Park, a few meters of altitude have to be overcome. The breathtaking views are worth every step. Since the chalk cliffs face east or south-east, you should be there in the morning when the sun is shining. Then the rocks shine most beautifully.

April 11, 2022,2022-04-11 Runde von Sassnitz zum Königstuhl und zurück
Nice round, on the steep coast to the Königstuhl. Unfortunately, the stairs to the beach are no longer there, so we had to walk back up most of the way. The first opportunity to go to the beach was at the Kieler Bach.

A very nice hike along the chalk cliffs on the high bank hiking trail. Very nice views of the chalk cliffs and great access to the bays below.
A very nice tour today, highly recommended.

By bus to Sassnitz, looked around the harbor a little and then to Wedding (not recorded). Here begins the Hochuferweg, which is one of the most beautiful hiking trails on the Baltic Sea, with its magnificent views of the sea and the chalk cliffs. The beautiful beech forests are part of the Unesco World Heritage.
Unfortunately, the Wissow handles that …

At the beginning of the year I start with a classic hiking tour: the high bank path on the island of Rügen. This approximately twelve kilometer long hiking trail connects the port cities of Lohme and Sassnitz on the Jasmund peninsula. His path runs right along the eastern high bank. You also pass the world-famous Königsstuhl.

CHALK ROCK ON RÜGEN
... this painting by Caspar David Friedrich already fascinated me in my youth that I looked at it over and over again. I remembered that today when I stood at the Wissower Klinken and looked down at the chalk cliffs.

A not quite strenuous but beautiful tour. The high shore path on Rügen's cliffs offers spectacular views. The path is a good 12 km long and leads along the high shore above the Baltic Sea along the chalk coast. It is certainly one of the most beautiful and spectacular hiking trails on the Baltic Sea. Guaranteed a tour without boredom, …

Local bus Sassmitz 18 to Wedding.
Nice easy hike through the Unesco World Heritage beech forest / Jasmunder National Park on a wide and well-marked hiking trail. Some places a bit muddy after rain. The steeper passages are defused by stable wooden stairs.
Unfortunately, the exits to the sea on Komoot are not shown. At the start of Wedding, you …

You can make the tour relatively relaxed by taking bus no. 23 up to the Königsstuhl and then walking the blue/white hiking trail in the direction of Viktoriasicht.
More than 95% of the route is in the forest and is great to walk with good shoes, as it is mostly downhill.
