    Hiking

The famous chalk cliffs on Rügen stretch for 15 kilometers
on the Jasmund peninsula – from Sassnitz to the village of Glowe.

The sight alone is magnificent; after all, you don't see such imposing white cliffs,
rising 120 meters high, every day. But their origin is equally astonishing: the cliffs were formed more than 50 million years ago from calcareous, fossil-like remains of various small animals that were deposited in the sea and solidified into rock over time.

Together with sand, clay, and other rocks, this is how the chalk cliffs we know today were formed.

The detour is really worth it. It is the greatest place on the island to experience chalk cliffs. At this point they are really very high and impressive and the walk along the beach teaches you to be really in awe of nature.
It must be said that rocks have slipped here and there is always a certain danger. Also, something like that does not announce itself, but happens very suddenly.
The probability is stronger in wet periods, because the rocks are then soaked and heavier. I found it impressive and would recommend it to anyone.
