The bog is one of the most distinctive parts of Garden City Lands, preserving a remnant of Richmond’s original peatland landscape within the city. The open ground, low vegetation and wetter soils feel very different from the agricultural areas nearby, and the trails give you a good look across that change in habitat. It’s also an important conservation area, so stay on the designated paths as you pass through.
