Windermere Community Foreshore Park sits at the bottom of Box Hill Road in Claremont, and is a quiet reserve on the shore of Windermere Bay, looking out over the Derwent. It’s an ideal rest stop, with picnic shelters and walking tracks that follow the foreshore, and a saltmarsh at the water’s edge that is home to a variety of waterbirds. The park also includes the Claremont War Memorial, sited here to look out toward Dogshear Point, where the Claremont Army Camp once stood during the First World War.
