This camel spruce is so named because of its shape. It used to stand at the top of the climb to the Achtermann mountain and was a popular subject for photographs, practically famous. The camel spruce has now found its final resting place here by the Kurpark pond.

The camel spruce was a spruce at the top of the Achtermannshöhe that became known for its unusual growth form, reminiscent of a camel. It grew directly on the well-traveled hiking trail to the summit of the Achtermannshöhe.
