The emblem of the rione is a gold pineapple with a red background, since an imposing bronze sculpture in the shape of a pineapple was found in this place and is located in the Vatican courtyard with the same name.

Cortile Della Pigna
Impressive garden in the Vatican. The building behind the pine tree is tall enough that it can be seen from many vantage points in Rome.

The Cortile della Pigna is a courtyard in the Vatican, which owes its name to the large bronze pine cone that stands there. The Pine Cone is an ancient Roman statue that was once part of a fountain near the Pantheon. The courtyard is part of the Vatican Museums complex and is used to display various sculptures and works of art. The courtyard is also connected to the Vatican Apostolic Archives, where the historical documents of the Holy See are kept.
