Berndorf is one of the oldest parishes in our diocese, which formerly also included the entire areas of Nussdorf (until 1683) and Perwang (until 1786). From this it is understandable that to this day the "Unterberg" – the villages of Lauterbach to Kastenau in the Oichtental (municipality of Nussdorf) and Baumgarten (municipality of Perwang / Upper Austria) belong to the parish of Berndorf.
