The path on the northern side of the ever-winding Demer is connected to the underlying forests and heathland around the Heimolen via various paths. Most of them are now flooded, but you notice that they were beautiful paths in different times with much older ponds and nature restoration.

The stretch of the Demer between Testelt and Langdorp is one of the most picturesque and ecologically valuable parts of the entire Demer Valley. Where the river was often straightened elsewhere, here you will still find the authentic, strongly meandering fossil meanders and riverbeds.
