It extends over 1000 hectares of surface for about 11 km and 1500 meters wide to the north of Ravenna starting from the right Reno canal until reaching the Candiano canal: the busy SS 309 Romea separates it from the oasis of Punta Alberete and Valle Mandriole divided in turn by the Lamone river which continues flowing into the Adriatic; the pine forest in its upper part is divided by the Lamone narrowing until it becomes 500 meters wide taking the name of Bedalassona pine forest
