Rebuilt in 1911 and recently restored, it is equipped with a movable floor. It was adjusted to the level of the river so that the washerwomen's feet remained dry.
The footbridge was built by the inhabitants of the Billardière district who wanted to attend the church service without having to make a detour to the town hall.
