The La Tiñosa Public Trail leads you to the highest peak in Córdoba, offering a scenic journey that begins among olive groves and holm oak forests, before ascending through challenging, rocky terrain. As you climb, the views open up, culminating in spectacular panoramas from Pico de la Tiñosa. It's an ideal route for those who enjoy a physical challenge with a great visual reward.
This 7.8-mile (12.5 km) hike, with 2313 feet (705 meters) of elevation gain, is classified as moderate and has an estimated duration of 4 hours and 27 minutes. A permit is required for access. The best time to visit is from mid-September to May, avoiding the hot summer months. Be sure to bring appropriate footwear and water, as the final stretch is particularly demanding.
Located in the Sierras Subbéticas Natural Park, the route is a geological and ecological point of interest, part of the Natura 2000 Network. You'll be able to observe unique rock formations and rich biodiversity, including birds of prey like griffon vultures. It's an experience that combines physical effort with immersion in a naturally and culturally significant environment.
