The fountain at the Ochsenkopf by Hans Werner Könecke (bronze, granite, 1980).
Two mighty bronze heads on each side of a granite stele mark the junction area from Langebrückstrasse to the Ochsenkopf with power and force. They are fittingly two ox heads, reminiscent of a butcher who used to live here.
Hans-Werner Könecke was born in 1940 and began sculpting in his youth in Mölln. In his studios in Mölln and Reinbek, he created sculptures made of wood and bronze. Many animal sculptures can be found in public spaces in Schwerin, Norderstedt, Verden, Ratzeburg, Eckernförde and Hamburg.
