Lovely setting, but this part of the trail suffers from age and poor maintenance; it needs significant repair or replacement. The next section on the way to the Africa Museum is new and pristine but lacks the pleasant shade of this section.

Nice fast cycle route to cycle to and from the Red Monastery from Tervuren or the wider East Rand around Brussels. The nicer way is through the Sonian Forest
