"Welcome to Hamburg, we look forward to welcoming you to the Port of Hamburg." You have to have some luck (or patience) to hear this greeting from incoming ships. Larger ships are so welcomed. For this purpose, the respective national anthem is played.
But you can also just sit on the pontoon and look at the Elbe. It's always worth it ...!

Special mood. If you come straight when a ship heads towards the city, you will even be greeted with the German national anthem. If one goes, when a ship drives towards the sea, one hears the hymn of ship's nationality.

Large ships of all kinds are welcomed or bid farewell here. You can also enjoy delicious fish rolls here. And that with a view of the Elbe.
