Take the castle trail to Mount Jefferson, then on the Lowe's trail to Mount Adams, then back into the valley. allow about 10 hours of hiking. but what a great reward in return!

This segment is one of my favorite of the White Mountains. Expect lots of scrambling and spectacular views, with very few fellow hikers.

There are a number of trails that lead up to the summit of Mount Jefferson, and Castle Trail is one of the most popular. The trail basically follows and wide ridge in a straight shot up the mountain.
