The bright plastered building that closes off the market square to the south is the Dahlmannschule, one of the two Segeberg high schools. This building housed a teachers' college from 1840 to 1927. Marienkirche When teacher training was moved back to the university in Kiel, the newly established high school was named after Friedrich Christoph Dahlmann, the representative of the Segeberg region in the Frankfurt National Assembly in 1848.

Opposite St. Mary's Church on the market is the former Holstein teachers' college (1839–1925), which has been a high school since 1927 called the Dahlmannschule, named after Friedrich Christoph Dahlmann. With the side wings for the caretaker and director's apartment, a building of classicist symmetry, slightly raised due to the addition of floors after a fire in 1915. The Dahlmann School is now attended by around 800 students. There are around 60 teachers teaching. Malte Hossenfelder, Reinhard Brandt, Günter Willumeit and Maria Jepsen took their Abitur here.
