It leads over the Tarpenbek and is a listed building.
The name of the bridge is based on the name of the Hamburg-Groß Borstel district. The Borsteler Bridge crosses the Tarpenbek, which is called Mühlenteich here and flows into the Alster shortly after the bridge.
The arch bridge, built in 1899, is registered as a cultural monument by the Hamburg Authority for Culture and Media with the number 16418.
