    Hiking

Wonderfully cascading, Bear Creek tumbles down stone steps here, lined on both sides by proud saguaro cacti. The best time of year to visit Seven Falls is, of course, spring, when the creeks are rushing from the melting snow.

    Hiking

Moderate hike of shorter distance in the desert. Take lots of water and plan to go for when the falls have water. It's fun to play in the pools after you get there. The return is downhill and easier.

    Running

Reaching Seven Falls involves crossing a stream multiple times, which should be done carefully, especially during periods of high water. The reward in seven falls cascades with inviting pools, perfect for a refreshing dip on a warm day. The pools are seasonal, so they won't be full year-round.

Embark on a moderate hiking adventure along the Bear Canyon to Seven Falls Trail, a 3.5 miles (5.6 km) route that guides you through the diverse landscapes of the Sonoran Desert. You will gain 849 feet (259 metres) in elevation over an estimated 1 hours and 56 minutes, encountering varied terrain from rocky paths to sandy sections. The trail follows Sabino Creek, leading you through an oasis-like environment dotted with towering saguaros and prickly pears, culminating at the multi-level Seven Falls with its refreshing cascades and clear pools.

To make the most of your visit, consider an early start, especially during peak seasons, as this popular trail can get crowded. While hiking boots are recommended for the rocky terrain, you also have the option to use a shuttle service for part of the way, which can shorten your hiking distance. Trekking poles can also be helpful on some sections of the route.

This trail is nestled within the Sabino Canyon Recreation Area, offering a unique opportunity to experience an oasis in the desert. The journey along Sabino Creek reveals a vibrant ecosystem, distinct from the surrounding arid landscape. The series of cascades forming Seven Falls provides a picturesque destination, making it a notable highlight for those exploring the region.
