The Historical Queckbrunnen lies exactly on the border between Dannstadt and Schifferstadt. In the past, the two municipalities often argued here – especially about who was allowed to use the water and the pastures for the animals. The well itself is "ancient". During excavations in 1982, archaeologists discovered that people had lived here since the Stone Age – that is, about 6000 to 8000 years ago! The water still flowed from the spring until the 1930s. Due to its location on the border, there were always minor disputes: If animals from Dannstadt went onto pastures in Schifferstadt, the bailiffs and field guards would come to retrieve them – and vice versa, of course. It often took a long time for the animals to be returned to their rightful owner. At the end of the 1930s, the spring was covered over by the construction of a bunker and disappeared. Nevertheless, people continued to remember it. In the vernacular, it was called "Kindlesbrunnen" and was even covered in local history lessons at schools. When the bunker was later dismantled, Kurt Kocher from Dannstadt, together with his sons, dug for the spring – and found it! Together with Lorenz Eckrich from Schifferstadt, they founded a working group that took over the further excavations. During this process, they discovered both a brick well from the late Middle Ages and an old spring well made of oak beams.

The glider airfield of the Ludwigshafen Sailing Sports Club is located right next to the A 61. A cycle and footpath that leads directly over the runway is secured with a barrier system - you don't see something like that every day!
