September 7, 2026, Forest at Naturreservat Slättö Sand

Slättö Sand is one of the largest areas of wind-blown sand in Sweden and is characterised by its unique geological and botanical features. It was once a treeless sandy landscape, but afforestation has changed its appearance, and today it is maintained through logging and controlled burning.

Enjoy the silence and try to sight some of the most beautiful birds here, along the coast.

This is at the same time a bench and a statue, where you can stop during your activity to relax a bit.

This was my second time visiting this beautiful national park. An intact raised bog of this size. Incredible. The visitor center is also absolutely worth a visit and offers a lot for children, and two binoculars are available. We were able to observe four cranes, water buffalo, and roe deer from there.

A truly fantastic house for observing or photographing the countless waterfowl. It was built by students from a local high school. Truly top-notch work!

Here you can relax and enjoy the sun. I had a really nice break there and recharged my batteries after halfway around the Draven.

This relatively new and well-preserved bridge crosses the Ölmestadsån River, which forks into two directions directly east of the bridge. It's a lovely place to linger and relax.
