The cycle paths along the Weser River are wonderful to cycle on, and there are plenty of places to sit and take a short break.

Bodenwerder's Old Town Church was built in 1460/70 as a Gothic hall church, enlarged to the south in 1899, and extensively renovated in 1962 and again from 1985 to 1987. The Renaissance baptismal font and the design of the chancel were created by the sculptor Bruno Schmitz (1962). The organ was built in 1966 by Paul Ott (Göttingen) with 24 stops on two manuals and a pedal board. It was technically and acoustically refurbished in 1989/90 by the Steinmann (Vlotho) and Janke (Bovenden) companies. In 2000, the Hillebrand (Altwarmbüchen) company installed a new wind system.
