On the Reuther Berg hill, at the top of the steep slope, stands the Sun Temple, a pavilion offering panoramic views far across Kasendorf. This is the second Sun Temple on this site. The first was built before 1936. The second, current Sun Temple was rebuilt in 1948/49. Two Kasendorf residents, master carpenter Fritz Schneider and carpenter Ferdinand Richter, undertook the construction of the pavilion themselves.

A short street full of hotels and restaurants. It's only partially suitable for walking, except in the early morning hours. Otherwise, it's usually packed with people.

Truly a wonderful place to rest. Especially quiet early in the morning and enjoy the sunrise. Pedal boat rentals during the day.

KATZENBERG - no, there are only a few cats here 😸😹😻😼🙀😾 The Katzenberg forms the connection between the Sandgebiet and Domberg. The name "Katzenberg" derives from the former cannons, the culverins and field cats, which served to defend the Domburg. On the right side are some of the city's most beautiful town houses. House No. 2 is noteworthy, which contains a Latin chronogram from the period shortly after the Thirty Years' War: PAX HVIC DOMVI SALVS VIVENTIBVS ET HABITANTIBVS IN EA:

This monument to King Ludwig II is somewhat hidden in the grove. The monument to King Ludwig II is located in the Theresienhain in Bamberg. It was erected in 1910 to commemorate the donation of the grove to the city of Bamberg by King Ludwig II in 1870. The bronze statue depicts the young king in a dignified pose. During World War II, it was slated for meltdown but was saved and re-erected in 1950. It is an important monument and commemorates the fairytale king's connection to Bamberg.
