The Schneerosenweg is a beautiful but challenging trail. The trailhead initially suggests an easy one. After about 100 meters, there's a S3 section that's only suitable for experienced hikers. Once you manage these five minutes, you'll reach a very nice S0 to S2 trail that's a lot of fun.

It's best to start early in the morning, by 8:00 at the latest, and do the mountain section first. If you run later, there will be many hikers around, and it can get crowded in places. You should also be sure-footed, as the mountain section includes everything: roots, steps, gravel, and sharp stones. Overall, a challenging, beautiful run.

Of course, theoretically, you could just keep walking without stopping and just enjoy the view over Lake Achensee and the surrounding mountain scenery – "temporarily," so to speak. But that would be a shame, because at some points you should allow yourself to be tempted to take a short rest and take in the fantastic view in peace and quiet.
