An absolute must-see! It's a Rhine island, separated from the main channel by an old Rhine branch, and has held FFH/NATURA 2000 protected status since 2008. On the one hand, it's captivating with its floodplain character, featuring the overflow areas of the old Rhine branch, reed beds, and softwood floodplain forest of Canadian poplars, willows, and ash trees – I even found a genuine symphonic cypress. On the other hand, it boasts a meadow landscape with plant species typical of floodplain meadows, which are threatened with extinction and have therefore been replanted as part of a conservation project. Of course, you can't expect a profusion of blossoms in February. Nevertheless, I was thrilled.

This body of water in the back of Pfrimmpark is called the duck pond or simply the pond. It's a great place to sit and watch all kinds of water birds.

The ARD television media library presents a short (15-minute) segment on the "Nibelungenlied" (Song of the Nibelungs) – an ancient tale featuring the popular hero Siegfried, which made the city of Worms famous and remains a major tourist attraction to this day. As part of the "Classics of World Literature" series, writer and literary figure Tilman Spengler (re)acquaints even those who think they know the legend with its content.
