🌲 Originally known as Vogelpark Metelen, the site later transformed into the "Dinozoo", attracting countless families and day-trippers with its life-sized dinosaur models and idyllic forest character. Even though the park's gates are now closed and nature is gradually reclaiming the area, the place remains a fixture in local history and a distinct landmark in the dense trail network of Münsterland.

🚲 The paths around the former park grounds are wonderfully quiet to ride and lead you through the shady, wooded surroundings of the hamlets. A stopover in this corner can be excellently combined with a tour along the Vechta or a detour to the nearby Heidesee. It is a place to pause and reflect, showing how closely leisure history and the idyllic nature of our homeland are intertwined.

🚲✨ The Dinozoo Metelen on the Samberg is unfortunately no longer a destination for a family outing with live animals. You will find this once-popular park in the Metelen Heath permanently closed today, which makes many cyclists feel wistful.

Unfortunately, the milk station is permanently out of service. However, there are still so many other items available, including eggs, drinks, snacks, etc. A really nice log cabin has also been built for a cozy rest. A wonderful and peaceful place, even though the actual milk station no longer exists.
