Accompanied by the gentle murmur of the Nidder, this section offers you a magnificent view of the Glauberg. The gentle hill holds not only historically significant but also geologically interesting secrets. The Glauberg is, in fact, a table mountain made of solidified lava. The plateau consists of basalt, which can be attributed to the Vogelsberg volcanism. With its approximately 271 meters, situated between the rivers Nidder and Seemenbach, it is recognizable from afar.

The hut of the Ranstadt Nature and Bird Protection Group (NaVo) was built in 2016 by club members on their own initiative – an extended break here is well worth it. After many kilometers in the saddle or in hiking boots, you can get your circulation going in the Kneipp pool and stimulate blood flow in your feet on the barefoot path over various surfaces in a completely relaxed way. A small oasis right on the R4!
