A new little café has opened in the pedestrian zone, and it's highly recommended. It's called Mrs. Landt, and in addition to excellent coffee, it also serves delicious homemade cakes. The café boasts a stylish interior. It's a very nice place to take a break.

Honestly, all I see here are a few run-down buildings. 🤷♂️

The former railway repair shop was a major employer in the region from 1918 to 1989. Located on the border with Plankstadt, it initially served to maintain steam locomotives and later freight cars. In its heyday, it employed over 1,000 people and, with workshops, bunkers, a shooting range, and even a pigpen, was a small world unto itself. After its closure, the site was partially demolished and repurposed – today, it houses, among other things, Decathlon's large logistics center. Several listed buildings, such as the Wagenrichthalle II (Wagon Repair Hall II) and the gatehouse, have been preserved and serve as reminders of Schwetzingen's industrial past. An exciting place where history and the present meet.
