What you see is a clear representation of what an artist's palette would look like brought to nature. The landscape here is incredible, not only for its beauty, tranquility, and shapes, but also for the different colors that are evident due to minerals, including red hematite and green chlorite.

At this point along the road, there's ample space on both sides, and you can dismount off your bike to take in the natural marvel surrounding you while you recharge.

Classic tourist spot, to which you can drive up to the ridge by car. However, the road there is off-road in places and requires having spare tires and other roadside assistance on hand. But the view of Death Valley is actually worth it. Great view.

Several stops along this one-way loop road invite for short hikes to viewpoints and into the colorful eroded dry beds of small canyons.

Death Valley is known for hundreds of mines in one of the hottest areas on earth. Prospectors were mining for gold ore. To haul higher-grade ore to smelters, Roy Journigan acquired this mill site in 1934. He also acquired the water rights to four springs in the area to pipe water to the mill. After he sold the mill in 1939, it was still used until the late 1960s by several owners.

Dante’s View gives you an almost bird’s eye view of the valley below and the mountain range across from it. It is breathtaking by all means an one of my favorite spots in the park.

Enjoy the beautiful dark sky after a long day of hiking at this campground. It is tent-only campsite with 10 sites on a first-come-first-serve basis. It is free of charge, has water, tables and a flush toilet.
