August 31, 2024, View of Mount Washington

The tour is easy, it only takes half an hour to walk up to the mountain through the forest and the combination of the three marked hiking trails makes for a beautiful circuit. From the top you have a good view of the two lakes and the Presidental Range to the side.

The Ledges Trail is the main path utilized for summiting Pleasant Mountain. The Ledges Trail is the shortest and most direct route to the top, but it is also the steepest trail. It's really rewarding once you finally make it up to the ridge.

December 13, 2023, Step Falls Preserve

The trail moving through Step Falls Preserve follows Wight Brook the entire time, which is lined with different cascades and small waterfalls, falls just outside the boundaries of Grafton Notch State Park. The trail is more primitive than the waterfall trails within the park, but it also offers more solitude.

Pleasant Mountain is an isolated, lengthy mountain mass that stretches about 4 miles on the north-south line of Bridgton and Denmark. The main summit is open and filled with ledges, which are typical in a very granite heavy state.

Pleasant Mountain is a great warm up hike for those who want to get out early in the spring, but don't want to deal with snowshoes. On this April 3rd hike, there was snow between the SouthWest and Main peaks, but no need for even microspikes. As always, you should do your homework to determine the best equipment for your situation.
