An absolute highlight is the transporter bridge from Areeta to Portugalete via the Ria de Bilbao. On the Portugalete site there is a small photo exhibition about transporter bridges. In Germany there is such a construction that crosses the Kiel Canal near Rendsburg.

The Bolue or Bolúe wetland ("the mill" in Biscayan Basque) is a hydrographic accident in Getxo, Bizkaia, in the area where the Bolue stream flows into the Gobelas river. Surrounded by willows and alders, reeds and cattails grow in its central area. It is visited by migratory birds. Birds such as ducks, coots, chiffchaffs, bumblebees and little bitterns reside there. These native birds have occasionally been attacked by minks. In addition, it has been repopulated with leprous tortoises.

It is born on Mount Gana, in Barrika. At its head it is called the Ganabarri stream, until in the Urko plain, in Sopelana, it receives the waters of the Lemosa and Saitu streams. In Getxo it receives the Martiartu and Bolue streams. At the mouth of the latter is the Bolue wetland, one of the most interesting natural spaces for fauna in the town. Its last section takes the form of an estuary. Since the 19th century, it has converged in Leioa with the Udondo river, to flow into the Ibaizabal-Nervión estuary shortly after.
