If I remember it clearly from last trip it was quite overgrown by the stream. Other than that it was a nice shortcut away from the overwhelming traffic

A fantastic off-road climb which is part of the Sandstone Trail path. This is a skills and fitness challenge; chapeau if you can make it on a gravel bike without dabbing your feet. It runs from The Ridgeway up past Shepherds Houses, across Manley Road and up past the reservoir to Dobbers Lane. The Sandtone Trail markers show a footpath symbol, but this is all Bridleway.

The bottom section up to the ford is paved but has been taken back by nature, narrow and muddy in places. Watch out for the edges into the stream which may be kerb stones beneath the undergrowth. The ford is broken up and not easy to traverse on a gravel bike. Above the ford is sealed road.
