Not far from the Hörndlwand is the Brander Alm. At 1,135 meters, it serves everyone who fancies a cozy stop during the alpine season. In addition to regional specialties, Kaiserschmarrn, homemade cake, and various snacks, cheese and quark from our own production are on the menu.

Even from afar, the rock tooth of the Hörndlwand can be recognized between Ruhpolding and Reit im Winkl. Besides the Kampenwand, it is probably one of the most rugged in the Chiemgau Alps. To the north, the summit drops off for around two hundred meters – a paradise for climbers. The plateau of the summit area at 1,684 meters bears three crosses. The ascent requires sure-footedness and a head for heights.
