To the north of Warensberg there are 5 burial mounds covered with stones and overgrown with trees that are visible from afar! Very well preserved archaeological monuments that are typical of the North German landscape! About 650 meters southeast of here (at Glockenberg) there is another very distinctive burial mound, the so-called "King's Cradle"!

In the 12th century, work began on building a church in Ankershagen in the Romanesque style that was common at the time. This is why one of the oldest surviving fieldstone churches in Mecklenburg can be found in Ankershagen today. The church was renovated in the middle of the 13th century. It was given its current form through a reconstruction that probably also led to an extension. It was renovated in the Gothic style, but Romanesque elements were retained. http://www.ankershagen.de/kirche.html
