A small, charming chapel. I particularly liked the two stained-glass windows.

The Chapelle du Bief d'Etoz, small, charming, and somewhat enchanted. A hint of the past wafts through the trees here. The chapel was built in 1692 – because a man fell from his horse and made a promise. I understand him. Anyone who falls here also promises all sorts of things – especially to choose flatter paths next time. The climb up to Le Noirmont is still quite demanding 😅

Jambles has belonged to the Abbey of Cluny since the 9th century. A writing by Saint Vincent de Chalon from 1263 mentions the presence of a hospital that received the sick, the homeless, and travelers at the place called Maison-Dieu in Jambles. At its center is a pretty fountain near a cross.

The closer you get to the actual source, the stronger the blue color of the crystal clear water becomes!
