The "Lastrup Sculpture," a steel sculpture located directly in the center of the roundabout, is by Alfred Gockel. Towards the shopping centers, there is also a memorial plaque commemorating Anton Witte's passive resistance during the Nazi era.

At Knipper's, a true treasure has stood the test of time: a magnificent, deep blue, gleaming Dutch tiled stove. With its artfully decorated tiles in a rich, dark blue, this rare masterpiece is far more than just a source of warmth – it is the centerpiece of the house's over 150-year history.

A few meters along the Hase are always beautiful, today the sheep were the highlight.

Aside from the typical "fire station" look, I don't find anything special about this highlight. P.S.: The building now houses the German Red Cross (DRK) Lastrup emergency unit. So anyone who wants to join the German Red Cross at least knows where to go. ;-)

If you'd like, you can follow the old railway embankment on foot for about 100 meters. A beautiful wooden bridge awaits you at the other end. However, the direct path across the embankment is completely overgrown for most of the year, so "just looking" is often the better alternative.

I was in Stedingsmühlen today, May 21, 2024, to see if the hiking trail from Stedingsmühlen is passable. Just stay away, because the hiking trail is a jungle of stinging nettles, completely unmaintained, completely muddy in places, and simply unusable for a long stretch. It should also be common knowledge by now that Stedingsmühlen Estate is no longer a hiking parking lot. Go somewhere else; it's a waste of time and simply incredibly frustrating. It used to be a great trail.
