The Venne forester's house with its meadows and trees always has a homely feel to it, especially in spring. I'm always happy when a hike takes me past the forester's house.

The original baroque memorial cross has stood in the Friesdorf cemetery since 1834. This replica was donated in 2000 and erected elsewhere. I haven't (yet) figured out what the cross was originally supposed to commemorate. There was often a specific reason (accidental death or murder), but in the Baroque period there often wasn't 🤨.
