Beautiful view of the Nonnental. PS - the hotel up there is also super nice. And it even has a spa and wellness area.

The path looks steeper on the hiking map or in the Komoot app than it actually is. It does go downhill or uphill partly in steps and partly as a "wavy" step, depending on which direction you are traveling. But it cannot be compared to a trail in the Alps / Alpine foothills, for example. I was also worried about the descent at first, but it was completely fine. And my knees found it great for descending, no pain or anything.

Small village in the middle of the mountains of Madeira. The location in this dreamlike mountain scenery has something special. We descended one side in one day, went through the valley and climbed up again on the other side of the mountain. The view was just wow all day long A visit to the Nonnental is definitely worth it.

To get to the viewpoint, you need to walk about 400 m from the hotel, where there is parking. The route is well marked and secured. Approximately halfway there is also a viewing terrace, but it is worth covering the extra meters to feast your eyes on the view of the entire Valley.

Many of the trees have burn marks. A fire must have raged some time ago.
