Azalea Hill trail ๐ผ is a necessary connection between Pine Mountain Fire Rd trail and Bullfrog Fire Road at the north end of Alpine Lake. There is a parking at the Azalea Hill trailhead along Fairfax-Bolinas Road. Azalea Hill trail entrance at the Pine Mountain side has a sign that it is explicitly open to mountain bike use; however on the Bullfrog side there's a 'No Biking' sign, perhaps it is meant as a one-way trail. In any event it is barely bikeable on the way down, climbing would be hard, and even descending it is in parts too rocky to ride the short middle section where it splits left after the crest. https://www.komoot.de/tour/13627077

Great hiking and mountain biking on this gravel fire road in Mt Tamalpais watershed. It initially climbs south from the intersection with Eldridge Grade Fire Road, then turns north and descends along a pronounced ridgeline forming the eastern boundary of the Mt Tam watershed and the Ross residential area. At the end there are hikers-only pedestrian trails connecting back to the parking lot; on bikes the return to the parking lot is via residential streets.
