Groombridge Place is currently closed but the walks around it are lovely. Plenty of streams and a pond with ducks and geese. There is also a train track that has old steen trains going past.

Great concrete paved route into Penhurst Place. Watch out for loose gravel and potholes at the turn-in off of Ensfield Road.

Groombridge Place is a beautiful country estate complete with sculpted formal gardens, a moated 17th-century manor house and over 200 acres of parkland. The house and its bridges were designed by Sir Christopher Wren, the same architect who re-designed St Paul's Cathedral after the Great Fire of London. Although the house is privately owned, you can visit the gardens. With a pirates playground and treetop walkway, it's also a great place for kids. The gardens are only open during summer. A medieval deer park, there are still hundreds of deer that roam freely throughout the Knole Estate. It is a great place for cycling with families and a coffee shop at the house is a welcome addition. Please respect the deer, which are wild animals, by keeping your distance and taking all litter home with you.

An old British Manor surrounded by deer grazing in the park, just add a princess and a knight on his white horse and you've got the perfect setting for a Disney movie. Well, you might want to forget about the princess, but you can definitely see the manor and the deer at Knole Park in Sevenoaks. Follow me for a fairy-like day out in the most beautiful deer park in the south of England.
