Paulo de Frontin Railway Viaduct

Highlight • Bridge

The Paulo de Frontin railway viaduct is a Belgian architectural and engineering construction and the only curved railway viaduct in the world. The engineering work was considered absolutely perfect. It is 82 meters long, counting from the ends embedded in the hills and 32 meters high counting from the bed of the Santana River, which passes under its arch. It has two straight spans and a central arch of 40 m. It was opened on March 29, 1897 by the Estrada de Ferro Melhoramentos do Brasil and became part of the Estrada de Ferro Central do Brasil in 1903 as part of the famous Auxiliary Line. Later, the line became part of the RFFSA and a famous tourist train, the Blue Train, often passed along this stretch, for which I leave this pamphlet from the time of RFFSA's management. belgianclub.com.br/pt-br/heritage/viaduto-ferrovi%C3%A1rio-paulo-de-frontin-miguel-pereira

December 23, 2025, Trilha do Teiú

Location: It starts on Estrada Caneca Fina, in front of a wooden gate in the Vila Ione region. Length and Time: It is approximately 1.8 km long (one way), taking about 30 to 45 minutes to complete. Difficulty: Classified as easy to moderate. Although the terrain is predominantly flat due to the Atlantic Forest, there are sections that require attention, such as crossing a river over rocks. Attractions: The route is full of crystal-clear pools for swimming and viewpoints. The endpoint is the upper part of the Iconha Canyons, where there is a large pool and waterfalls. Access: The site is signposted (yellow arrows) and parking is available near the start of the trail.

Magé's Véu da Noiva waterfall, also known as Cachoeira Grande de Piabetá, is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the state of Rio de Janeiro and one of the most popular among visitors. Reaching it requires a short 30-minute hike. With a drop of approximately 110 meters, it is one of the highest in the state. In addition to Véu da Noiva, there are several other smaller waterfalls and places to swim thanks to the natural pools that have formed.

Guys, the T-Rex Restaurant is a themed fast food restaurant. I'd add that those who love dinosaurs will also love this place. You can almost hear John Williams playing in the background 🤣
