November 1, 2024, Greek Catholic Wooden Church of St. Michael the Archangel, Uličské Krivé

The Greek Catholic wooden church in the village of Uličské Krivé was built in 1718. It is dedicated to St. Archangel Michael. In Christianity, Michael is considered primarily as the slayer of the devil in the form of a dragon, as well as the leader of the heavenly armies that stand in the east before God's throne. From very early on, Michal portrayed himself as the protector of the gate to paradise.

The pass (elevation 855m) separating Połonina Caryńska and Mała and Wielka Rawka. There is a large car park and bus stop on site. You can also buy tickets to the Bieszczady National Park here

After a 10-minute detour from the main green path that leads to the ridge, you reach the three springs. Here, tired and thirsty hikers can refresh themselves, fill up their water bottles with the best spring water and pay a visit to the small chapel and bell tower. And who would have thought? There are not only places to sit and rubbish bins, but also a toilet (even with paper)! Thanks to the considerate locals!

Majster Bieda, or Władysław Nadopta (born 1922, died 2005), a true "Bieszczadnik" who came to the Bieszczady Mountains in the 1960s and stayed there for the rest of his life. He was a lumberjack, he collected forest undergrowth and wandered around Bieszczady's pubs, shelters and GOPR stations. He received his nickname "Majster Bieda" from Wojtek Belon, the leader of the Free Group of Bukowina. Wojtek wrote a song about him titled "Majster Bieda" and thus made Nadopta recognizable and the memory of him has not disappeared. In 2023, a monument in the form of a bench with Majster Bieda sitting and looking at the mountains was unveiled in Wetlina.
