The writer Günter de Bruyn acquired this house in the GDR era. He describes the acquisition of it and life in it in the book "Abseits", which is well worth reading. It also contains sections about the nearby Blabbermühle and the Brandenburg area.

A medieval German aristocratic castle was located here. Today you can only see the remains of the protective wall and there are archaeological finds. The Blabbergraben flows around the remains of the fortifications.

As early as 1553, a nameless mill on the Lindenberger See was recorded, which was reported to have died in 1603 and demolished in 1629. In 1682 the mill was rebuilt. In 1745 it is documented in one corridor. In 1801 the first name was Lindenbergsche Mühle, then in 1820 as the Grundmühle, under which it was also included in the original measurement table of the Prussian map in 1846. In 1818 the mill had seven residents and had two fireplaces, in 1858 it had a residential building and a farm building with eight residents. Seven residents are given for 1925. In 1927 the mill was dismantled. In 1931 and 1957 the mill establishment was run under the name Grundmühle as a living space for Lindenberg. The area is still inhabited (as of 2014). The defining word Grund- in the name refers to the reason as soil / landscape soil and means a mill located in the lowland, here in the lowland of the Blabbergrabenrinne.
